Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) for Water Treatment
Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) is a widely used water treatment chemical. It has a wide range of PH adaptation and it is not easy to produce color or other side effects. After the use of poly aluminum chloride, the content of iron, manganese and other heavy metals in water is low, which has a little corrosive effect on the equipment.
Comparing to inorganic flocculants, PAC is suitable for water of broad temperature, and is functional in low temperature water. It reduces less basicity less, so less or no basifier needed. There is fewer salts in water treated with PAC, this is good for high purity water purifying and ion-exchange treatment

At one water treatment plant in the Otway region of Victoria, polyaluminium chloride replaced alum and in so doing SO 4 levels in the treated water were reduced from 27 to 4 - 5 mg/L. Previously, alum was dosed at 45 to 55 mg/L at this plant.
Polyaluminum Chloride
Polyaluminum Chloride Kemira produces a wide range of polyaluminum chlorides (PACl) in liquid form (KEMIRA PAX). The highly charged Al in the products is optimized for best performance for the different basicities of PACl. The low to medium basicity products are excellent at reducing particles while maintaining good phosphorus removal properties.
Where we can produce, in the glass line reactor, polyaluminum chloride coagulants with a low and medium basicity. The most important is PAC 18 a liquid coagulant potable grade approved and it is an effective coagulant for treatment of both potable and waste water treatment.
DelPAC® (Polyaluminum Chloride Solution)
The use of DelPAC ® 2025 often improves finished water quality when compared to other coagulants, including all other Polyaluminum Chlorides commercially available. DelPAC ® 2025, when used as a coagulant, can provide longer filter runs, reduce or eliminate the need of alkali for pH adjustment, lower amounts of residuals and generally has the lowest overall costs of any treatment program.
Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) is one of the most efficient water treatment chemicals utilized today. It is widely used in both potable water and wastewater treatment because it provides high coagulation efficiency and it has the widest pH and temperature application ranges compared to other water treatment chemicals.
