Corrosion Inhibition of Carbon Steel by Polyacrylamide - ISCA
Abstract. The inhibition efficiency (IE) of Polyacrylamide (PAA) in controlling corrosion of carbon steel in ground water in the absence and presence of Zn 2+ has been evaluated by weight loss method. The formulation consisting of 250 ppm PAA and 50 ppm Zn 2+ has 98% IE. It is found that the inhibition efficiency (IE) of PAA increases by the addition of Zn 2+ ion.
The corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 1 M H 2 SO 4 in the presence of polyvinylpyrollidone (PVP) and polyacrylamide (PA) as inhibitors at 30–60°C was studied using gravimetric and gasometric techniques. The inhibition efficiency (1%) increased with increase in concentration of the inhibitors. Increase in temperature increased the corrosion rate in the absence and presence of inhibitors

In 1 M H 2 SO 4, guar gum has been reported to provide good corrosion inhibition toward C-steel . In this communication, we have focused on the effect of percentage grafting (%G) on the inhibition property by polyacrylamide grafted guar gum (GG-g-PAM) toward corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl. 2. Experimental 2.1.

2nd January 2025, Nitrogen dioxide Air pollution is a global health risk that is responsible for millions of premature deaths each year. A new study published in the European Heart Journal estimates that, in Europe alone, nearly 790,000 people die each year due to air pollution, and that each life is cut short by an average of more than 2 years [1].

- What is hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM)?
- Sci. 2019, 136, 47793. ABSTRACT Partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) is the water-soluble polymer most often used in flooding applications in the petroleum industry. However, in aqueous solutions at high temperatur...

- Is polyacrylamide soluble in water?
- Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a synthetic polymer of long-chain acrylamide subunits, high molecular weight (1000 to 20 × 10 6 g/mol), and a wide range degree of hydrolysis (Abidin et al., 2012; Joshi & Abed, 2017). It is extremely soluble in water, but not soluble in organic solvents, such as methanol and hydrocarbons (Lu & Wu, 2002; Braun et al., 2025).
- What is high molecular weight polyacrylamide (PAM)?
- Provided by the Springer Nature SharedIt content-sharing initiative High molecular weight (106–3 × 107 Da) polyacrylamide (PAM) is commonly used as a flocculant in water and wastewater treatment, as a soil conditioner, and as a viscosity modifier and friction reducer in both enhanced oil recovery and high volume hydraulic fracturing.
