Flocculation characteristics of polyacrylamide grafted
Based on the observed results, it can be concluded that polyacrylamide grafted hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose may be used as high performance flocculant for treatment of synthetic effluents and mine wastewater. The flocculation kinetics indicate that it follows particle collision model.
1. Granular polyacrylamide flocculant cannot beadded to sewage directly. It must be dissolved in water before use, then treat sewage with solution. 2. The water of dissolved granular polyacrylamide should be clean (such as tap water), not sewage. The solution does not require warm water, just room temperature water.

Flocculation of hematite fines by anionic polyacrylamide
Flocculation studies on iron-ore fines (size < 10 μm) were conducted using three anionic polyacrylamide polymers over the pH range 4.0–10.0 and flocculant dosages up to 0.20 kg/ton.The flocculation was favourable under acidic conditions and was helped substantially by CaCl 2 additions in alkaline conditions. Zeta potential measurements indicated a specific adsorption of polymers.
Flocculation. Under the action of polyacrylamide, the alum floc would become more thicken at this step, and polyacrylamide requires an appropriate degree of turbulence and sufficient residence time. At the later step of the polyacrylamide reaction, a large amount of alum floc accumulate slowly and become visible layer.
CN102392081A - Flocculant special for preparing sugar
The invention discloses a flocculant special for preparing sugar and a preparation method for the flocculant. The flocculant comprises the following raw materials in part by weight: 70 to 99 parts of polyacrylamide with the molecular weight of between 5.0*10<6> and 3.5*10<7> and anion concentration of between 0 and 40 percent, 0.1 to 40 parts of food grade sodium polyacrylate with the

Anionic flocculants are polymers that con sist of anionic groups like -СООН , -SO 3 H, -OSO 3 H (for ex-ample, active silicic acid, sodium polyacrylate, sodium alginate, lignosulphonates etc.). To obtain the anionic flocculant alkaline hydrolysis of polyacrylamide is widely used .
- What is chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR)?
- Meanwhile, large amounts of oil deposits remain unrecovered after application of traditional oil recovery methods. Chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR) has been adjudged as an efficient oil recovery technique to recover bypassed oil and residual oil trapped in the reservoir.
- What is chemical EOR?
- This EOR method relies on the injection of chemicals to boost oil recovery. In this overview, an up-to-date synopsis of chemical EOR with detailed explanation of the chemicals used, and the mechanism governing their oil recovery application have been discussed.
