EXPANSION OF THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS IN MAPOCHO-TREBAL
The Mapocho Plant is one of the most technologically advanced plants in the world. The works were carried out in the hope that the percentage of wastewater treated would reach 100%, unlike previously when it is understood that 87% flowed into the river. The relationship between our company and EDAM has been growing ever since our first
El Trebal - Mapocho . Aguas Andinas, the largest sewerage and potable water utility in Chile, is serving the Metropolitan region including Santiago capital. At the end of the years 2000, Greater Santiago‘s waste waters were treated on two major plants : El Trebal and La Farfana.

In 2011, SUEZ contributed to the renovation of the existing El Trebal plant and the construction of the new Mapocho plant. Aguas Andinas, the largest sewerage and drinking water operator in Chile, mandated SUEZ to construct the largest wastewater plant in Latin America to treat the urban water supply to 50% of the population of Santiago (i.e. 3.7 million people), with a capacity of 8.8 m³/s.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF EL TREBAL-MAPOCHO WWTP FOR THE WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION COMPANY AGUAS ANDINAS. Design, construction and commissioning of the Mapocho WWTP in Santiago de Chile, with a treatment capacity of 570,000 m 3 /day.
Sidestream treatment involves specialized management of nutrient laden streams produced after anaerobic digestion of sludge and its subsequent dewatering. These streams are highly concentrated in nature, contributing only 1% to 3% of the forward flow at a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) but comprising almost 10 to 40% of the plant’s

In 2010, construction began on the Mapocho wastewater treatment plant, which forms part of the final stage of the Santiago Watershed Water Treatment Plan. This new plant will be located in the El Trebal enclosure, and will have a capacity of 2.2 m3/s, expandable in the second phase to 4.4 m3/s, and in the third phase to 6.6 m3/s.
As leaders in the sector realize the potential of wastewater, the entire wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) model is shifting to a more efficient water resource recovery facility (WRRF) model, which uses biochemical, physical, physicochemical, and biological conversion processes to extract value from previously unexploited streams.
- What is polyacrylamide/polyelectrolyte (Pam)?
- Polyacrylamide/Polyelectrolyte (PAM) is water-soluble polymers, insoluble in most organic solvents, has good flocculation, can reduce the frictional resistance between the liquids, according to... With unique decolorization ability, it is mainly used in the decolorization of high-chroma wastewater from dye plants.
- What is polyacrylamide used for?
- Polyacrylamide, simple called PAM, is a water soluble flocculant polymer, available in anionic, cationic and nonionic for different Industries Polyacrylamide is, simply called PAM, a water- soluble high polymer and widely used in water purifier, water treatment, wastewater treatment, petroleum, paper-making, metallurgical, textile,...
- What is polyacrylamide paper making dispersant?
- Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a kind of water soluble polymer, has unique effect to increase the viscosity of water or to promote the flocculation of particles present in water, PAM Anionic Polyacrylamide Paper-Making Dispersant adopts the homopolymerization of acrylamide before adding alkali hydrolysis.
