Polyelectrolyte treatment — An approach for water quality
Treatment recommendations and dosage of polyelectrolyte are discussed in terms of an overall system approach. The use of this organic polymer could improve the overall efficiency of raw water treatment plant with increased throughput, reduced plant maintenance and better water quality.

In industrialized countries, PAM is an integral part of public health sanitary strategies and water management due to its importance in the function of municipal and industrial waste water treatment plants. Without utilizing PAMs, the limits prescribed by the EU water framework directive (DIRECTIVE 2000/60/EC of 23 Oct, 2000) cannot be achieved.

automatic preparation. This type of unit (figure 19) comprises the main tank divided into a series of three tanks with overflow transfer: a first tank A, the preparation tank, receives water at a controlled pressure and flow rate, together with the powder measured out by a screw-type feeder, ensuring that the product drops evenly over the disperser; the polymer begins to swell and to dissolve
Developing safe and efficient non-viral gene delivery systems remains a major challenge. We present a new cationic poly(2-oxazoline) (CPOx) block copolymer for gene therapy that was synthesized by sequential polymerization of non-ionic 2-methyl-2-oxazoline and a new 2-oxazoline monomer, 2-(N-methyl, N-Boc-amino)-methyl-2-oxazoline, followed by deprotection of the pendant secondary amine groups.

In the dropping technique, water is added gradually to the polymer solution under stirring or vice versa the polymer solution is dropped into water. Particles are formed by self‐assembling. [31, 32] In contrast to the dialysis approach, the solvent has to be removed, e.g., by heating or dialysis, to yield the final aqueous suspension.
Vancomycin HCl was prepared as orally administered colon target drug delivery tablets for systemic therapy. Tablet matrices containing 10–60% of tablet weight of guar gum (F1–F6) were prepared by direct compression and subjected to in vitro release studies to explore their sustained release in the colon. Various synthetic and natural polymers were incorporated to F6 to modify the drug

Gene therapy, i.e., the expression in cells of genetic material with therapeutic activity, holds great promise for the treatment of human diseases. A delivery vehicle (vector), of either viral or non-viral origin, must be used to carry the foreign gene into a cell. Viral vectors take advantage of the facile integration of the gene of interest into the host and high probability of its long-term
