Leading-Edge Biological Treatment: MBBR Moving Bed Biofilm
> Removal of ammonia in ROC by biological nitrification using MBBR™ as post treatment for effluent polishing, to reduce ammonium to 0.9 mg/L > Capacity: 15.5 ML/day > Application: environmental discharge to meet stringent EPA environmental requirements Bundamba Advanced Water Treatment Plant, Municipal, Bundamba - QLD
An added benefit of the acidulation process is the overall reduction in generated sludge volume. Using a metal-based salt, like aluminum sulfate or ferric chloride, can add significantly to the amount of secondary waste produced in the treatment process. Acidulating the water allows the proteins to coagulate without additional bulky chemicals.
Dairy wastewater treatment in a moving bed biofilm reactor
Dairy raw wastewater is characterised by high concentrations and fluctuations of organic matter and nutrient loads related to the discontinuity in the cheese production cycle and machinery washing. The applicability of a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) filled with FLOCOR-RMP plastic media to the treatment of dairy wastewater was evaluated in a pilot-plant.
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) The Ecologix MBBR is a highly effective biological treatment process based on a combination of conventional activated sludge process and biofilm media. The MBBR process utilizes floating High Capacity MicroOrganism BioChips media within the aeration and anoxic tanks. The microorganisms consume organic material.
Fish farming | AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR
Wastewater from fish farms contains pollutants that may harm the receiving water resources. This is one reason why treatment of discharges is a necessity to ensure the sustainability of fish production facilities.. To advance the capabilities of present and future aquaculture applications, wastewater from these facilities may also be recycled in RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture Systems) plants
The wastewater may contain pathogens from contaminated materials or production processes. A dairy often generates odors and, in some cases, dust, which also need to be controlled. Hydro-Flo engineers and builds complete solutions to efficiently manage the wastewater treatment and odor control requirements of the dairy industry.

A Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR) was operated during 333 days. Two different effluents were fed in six different phases. Phases I and II were fed with effluent where Pinus radiata was used as raw material, while phases III to VI were fed with effluent where Eucalyptus globulus was used as raw material. The HRT was reduced from 85 to 4 h, and the BOD5:N:P ratio (100:5:1, 100:3:1 and 100:1:1) was...
Monitoring endocrine activity in kraft mill effluent
A Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR) was operated at three different hydraulic retention times for a period of 414 days. The fate of the extractive compounds and the estrogenic activity of the Pinus radiata kraft mill effluents were evaluated using Yeast Estrogen Screen (YES) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) detection. Results show that the MBBR reactor is able to remove between 80
The variety of natural zeolite types results from differences in the way in which the SiO 4 and AlO 4 tetrahedra may link in space in one, two, or three dimensions and from the other ion types that are substituted within the channels. The tetrahedra of oxygens are arranged in four, five, six, etc. member rings, commonly called Secondary Building Units (SBU), which combine to form the channels

- What is organic polymer flocculant cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM)?
- The organic polymer flocculant cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) has the characteristics of a low additive amount, good turbidity removal and water purification effect, and high COD removal efficiency, and it has become the most commonly used polymer flocculant in the oilfield wastewater treatment process [ 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 ].
- What factors affect the flocculation effect of cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM)?
- Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) is a commonly used flocculant for water treatment. Factors that affect the flocculation effect and can be controlled manually include the type and dosage of CPAM, wastewater pH, stirring time and settling time, and their reasonable setting is critical to the flocculation effect of CPAM.
- What is cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM)?
- Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) is one of the most frequently used flocculants with high intrinsic viscosity and charge density. This flocculant is a water-soluble acrylamide-based polymer having cationic quaternary ammonium groups .
- Does cationic polyacrylamide flocculate Phaeodactylum tricornutum?
- However, Nguyen et al., observed high flocculation efficiency of marine microalgae Phaeodactylum tricornutum with a cationic polyacrylamide flocculant (FO3801). The discrepancy in the literature suggested that a future flocculation study using one type of polymer with multiple marine species.
