Reference: Influence of Polyacrylamide Conformation on the Fabric of a “Tunable” Kaolin-Polymer Composite Dispersive Behavior of Nonswelling Clays Citing article
Table 3 presents the summary of adsorption of each flocculant on kaolin at acidic, alkaline and near neutral pH, and the corresponding flocculation of kaolin in terms of settling rate. The adjustment in pH values were done by 1 M solution of HCl and NaOH. Table 3 shows that when the surface is almost neutral at pH 2.3, a higher amount of polymer gets adsorbed on the surface.

- Where does SNF manufacture polyacrylamide flocculants?
- This location also serves as the corporate headquarters for SNF’s North American operations (SNF Holding Company). The Riceboro site produces acrylamide monomers and cationic monomers used to manufacture polyacrylamide flocculants in powder, emulsion, and solution forms.
- What is polyacrylamide?
- Polyacrylamide is a term that has various definitions. For our purposes here, we will simply term polyacrylamide as a polymer that contains an acrylamide monomer at some level. Polyacrylamides make up the largest group of polymers in comparison to other synthetic polymeric polyelectrolytes.
- What is an anionic polyacrylamide?
- Anionic polyacrylamides make up the largest portion of the polyacrylamide market. The polymers can be prepared over a wide range of anionic charges and molecular weights (1000 to > 20,000,000 molecular weight). The workhorse comonomer for the production of anionic polyacrylamides is acrylate salts of acrylic acid.
- What is the global polyacrylamide market size?
- The global polyacrylamide market size was valued at USD 4.5 billion in 2018 and is expected to increase to USD 6.5 billion by 2025 . The primary product charge types (in the order of market size) are anionic, cationic, and nonionic polymers.
