Electroplating wastewater - H2O
Efficient and reliable treatment of rinsing water from zinc nickel plating. Zinc nickel plating is the state of the art corrosion protection method for stainless steel. In the automotive industry as well as in the mining and in the production of windmills it replaces old processes like alkaline zinc plating for instance.
Zinc plating process in strongly acidic medium; Zinc plating process and chemical reagents used; Wastewater Treatment Process; Galvanizing processes. The electroplating industry is concerned with coating metallic and non-metallic parts with a thin layer of a more noble metal than the basic one, through chemical changes produced by the electric
Metal Plating Wastewater Treatment - Finishing & Surfacing
Wastewater from Metal Finishing and Plating Operations must remove a variety of heavy metals, oils, and other toxins to be safely discharged. Wastewater treatment standards are becoming increasingly more stringent. Met-Chem understands the need for efficient and cost-effective methods to remove these metals from the wastewater.
(Acid & Alkaline Zinc-Nickel Available) Alkaline Zinc-Nickel (12-18% Ni) Superior ductility – Critical to successful plating of fluid lines, fittings, and other tubular items; components that must endure extreme pressures and secondary processing, and that must also maintain corrosion performance.
Zinc Plating (Alkaline or Acid) | KC Jones Plating: Zinc
> Zinc Plating (Alkaline & Acid) Protect parts from rust, corrosion and moisture with a bright, attractive, durable coating. Zinc plating is the proven solution automotive and other manufacturers have trusted for 100-plus years.
Zinc Bearing Wastewater Treatment System Process Description Zinc is most often found in plating and galvanizing operations. In plating shops, the zinc is often complexed with cyanide and the cyanide must be treated to free the zinc before precipitation can occur.

Zinc Plating - JSA
Zinc Plating. Zinc provides sacrificial or cathodic protection to iron and steel. Prior to entering the zinc plating solution, steel is typically cleaned in an alkaline soak cleaner and electrocleaner, then processed through an acid pickle where rust and carbon scale are removed.
– Good solderability; able to produce the best thickness with minimum plating times, reduce the consumtion of zinc. – Great tolerance to current density and thus not easy to get burnt. – Free of chelating agents and thus require easy wastewater treatment. – Suitable for large capacity of barrel plating to enhance efficiency.
Removing Heavy Metals from Wastewater | Products Finishing
Unfortunately, alkaline chemistry contains chelators and/or complexors and organic additives to allow for the co-deposition of the nickel in the deposit with the zinc. These chelators/complexors make the wastewater extremely difficult to treat through conventional chemical or physical treatment methods.
Wastewater treatment for metal finishing and plating operations must remove a variety of heavy metals, oils, and suspended solids before discharge to be compliant and environmentally conscious. Industrial manufacturing requiring metal finishing is steadily growing.
- Are polyacrylamide based friction reducers a slickwater hydraulic fracturing fluid?
- Technol. 2018, 52, 1, 327–336 Polyacrylamide (PAM) based friction reducers are a primary ingredient of slickwater hydraulic fracturing fluids. Little is known regarding the fate of these polymers under downhole conditions, which could have important environmental impacts including decisions on strategies for reuse or treatment of flowback water.
- Is polyacrylamide a major additive in slickwater fracturing fluid?
- Here we demonstrate that fouling of microfiltration membranes by synthetic flowback water is mostly due to polyacrylamide (PAM),a major additive in slickwater fracturing fluids. A synthetic fracturing fluid was incubated with Marcellus Shale under HVHF conditions (80 ℃, 83 bar, 24 h) to generate synthetic flowback water.
- Are polymers used in hydraulic fracturing?
- The utilization and treatment of polymers were of interest to both academia and industry. In contemporary extraction operations, hydraulic fracturing (HF) stands as a key technology. Within this domain, polymers, ranging from natural polymers such as guar gum to synthetic counterparts such as PAM, assume critical significance 9.
