The role of coagulation in water treatment - ScienceDirect
Coagulation plays primary and important roles in water and wastewater treatment. • Researches are needed for novel coagulants, hybrid processes and control schemes. • Study of floc properties is essential to enhance the coagulation efficiency. • The performance of coagulation is the major factor in improving water treatment efficiency.
In this study, the optimum operating conditions for a hybrid PACl coagulation-UF system for potable water treatment were determined using RSM. The focus of this study was to establish the optimum PACl dose and FRT for enhancing both organic and inorganic foulants removal.
Reservoir water treatment using hybrid coagulation

Landfill leachate treatment using hybrid coagulation-nanofiltration processes The membrane was compacted for 1 h using MilliQ water at 10 bars. In the second step, the reservoir and cell were emptied and 1 liter of test solution was introduced to the reservoir. Tatsi et al., investigated the coagulation of fresh landfill leachate using
Performance evaluation of water treatment ultrafiltration
The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of water treatment UF pilot plants for algae-rich reservoir water treatment: coagula- tion, coagulation–sedimentation and coagulation– sedimentation–filtration were applied prior to UF membrane respectively. 2. Experimental 2.1.

Electrocoagulation for spent coolant from machinery
Another treatment technology of electrochemicals is a potential newly developed technology for water and wastewater treatment. Among the electrochemical technologies of electrodeposition, electrocoagulation, electroflotation and electrooxidation, the electrocoagulation in which aluminium (Al), iron (Fe) or hybrid of Al/Fe was used as electrodes
Even though membrane and thermal treatment technologies are the most popular methods used in the treatment of produced water, other methods include biological aerated filters which consists of permeable media using aerobic conditions, hydrocyclones which use physical methods for separation of solids from liquids on the basis of density, gas

Recent technological developments have increased the number of variables being monitored in lakes and reservoirs using automatic high frequency monitoring (AHFM). However, design of AHFM systems and posterior data handling and interpretation are currently being developed on a site-by-site and issue-by-issue basis with minimal standardization of protocols or knowledge sharing.
