Selective and Homogeneous Fluorescent DNA Detection
A new methodology has been developed for DNA detection that interfaces optical amplification properties of cationic conjugated polyelectrolytes with highly selective target-induced DNA strand displacement. The probe solution contains a cationic conjugated polyelectrolyte (CCP-1), partly hybridized duplex DNA labeled with a fluorescein at the 5‘-terminus, and endonuclease Hae III.
Polyacrylamide gels functionalized with extracellular matrix proteins are commonly used as cell culture platforms to evaluate the combined effects of extracellular matrix composition, cell geometry and substrate rigidity on cell physiology. For this purpose, protein transfer onto the surface of polyacrylamide hydrogels must result in geometrically well-resolved micropatterns with homogeneous
Antibiotic-conjugated polyacrylate nanoparticles
The vast majority of cationic surfactants are ba sed on the nitrogen atom carrying the cationic charge (Figure 4.6). Both amine and quaterna ry ammonium-based products are commonly used. Fatty amine salt N H H H A l k y l q u a t N M e Me Me Figure 4.6: Structures of the cationic surfactants.
Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) of oligosaccharides in porous polyacrylamide monoliths has been explored. While it is possible to alter separation capacity for various compounds by copolymerization of suitable separation ligands in the polymerization backbone, “blank” acrylamide matrix is also capable of sufficient resolution of oligosaccharides in the hydrophilic interaction mode.
APPLICATION OF NANOTECHNOLOGY FOR TARGETED DELIVERY
5.2.2. Fluorescent labeling of proteins Alexa Fluor succinimidyl ester dyes (Alexa Fluor 350 and Alexa Fluor 594) were used for fluorescent labeling of the antibody and lysostaphin, respectively. The dyes react with the primary amines of proteins at pH 7.5–8.5 yielding stable conjugates [298]. Approximately
