- • Chlorine: kills bacteria and viruses, and eliminates other biological substances (such as algae) from the water. PPWSA has conducted studies and tests on the use of chemicals named Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) for the purpose of substituting alum and lime with PAC.
- What are polyaluminium chlorides?
- Polyaluminium chlorides are synthetic polymers dissolved in water. They react to form insoluble aluminium poly-hydroxides which precipitate in big volumetric flocs.The flocs absorb suspended pollutants in the water which are precipitated with the PAC and can together be easily removed.

- In 2003, we have established a polyaluminium chloride factory, and the annual production include 40,000 tons PAC for drinking water grade and 30,000 tons PAC for industrial wastewater grade.
