Consequently, there have been a large number of studies conducted, and bioremediation has almost always been found to be an effective treatment of hydrocarbon-contaminated sites (Huesemann and Moore, 1993, Li et al., 1995, Zhou and Crawford, 1995, Liebeg and Cutright, 1999). In the field of biostimulation, nutrient supplementation for

Microalgae Brewery Wastewater Treatment: Potentials
Concerns about environmental safety have led to strict regulations on the discharge of final brewery effluents into water bodies. Brewery wastewater contains huge amounts of organic compounds that can cause environmental pollution. The microalgae wastewater treatment method is an emerging environmentally friendly biotechnological process.
Conventional methods focus unduly on the separation, rather than the destruction of contaminants. The use of genetically engineered organisms for bioremediation would be an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective alternative for the management and remediation of pollutants in contaminated sites.
- How can Russia improve transboundary water policy?
- In-creasing participation of the Russian Federation in the international water policy is considered as the main means to improve the efficiency of transboundary water policy, as well as to develop additional capacity to deal with present challenges of natural disasters and climate change.
- How to determine access to sanitation in Russia?
- In the Russian Federation, the unit of statistical observation to determine an access to sanitation is a certain public utility enterprise (residential premise, housing stock). water disposal (sanitation), if there is a sewage appliance inside for the outflow of sewage water to the street sewage network or absorbing wells, or a local sump.
- What are the sanitary standards adopted by the Russian Federation?
- Sanitary protection of sources", approved by the resolution No 40 of the Chief state sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation, of November 25, 2002. The national drinking water standards adopted in the Russian Federation do not differ from those, contained in the EU Directive 1998/83/EU and the WHO Guidelines. 2. Bacteriological quality 4.
- Are open water bodies allowed in Russia?
- If you have not set a target in this area, please explain why. In the Russian Federation, the use of open water bodies for bathing is allowed only if there is a hygiene certificate issued confirming the compliance of the body with sanitary rules.
