Assessment of activated polyacrylamide and guar as organic
The effect of current density, temperature, diffusion layer thickness (δ), deposition time, Guarfloc66 (Guar) and activated polyacrylamide (APAM) on the topography (surface roughness) of electrodeposited copper was studied. The level of these variables approximates current commercial copper electrowinning (EW) and electrorefining (ER) operating conditions.

The new organic additive was named activated polyacrylamide (APAM)1. A comprehensive study on the effect of Guarfloc66 (Guar), the 40-year-old industry-standard organic additive, on copper electrowinning was lacking prior to this thesis. Guar was used as a basis against which to compare the effectiveness of APAM.

Powdered activated carbon injection (ACI) is a conventional technology that injects mercury sorbents into flue gas in power plants and captures the mercury-laden sorbents in fly ash. Although this reduces mercury emissions, the resulting fly ash is unsuitable for concrete and requires disposal in landfills.
Livestock’s long shadow ing countries, there are still vast areas where extensive livestock production and its associated livelihoods persist. Both intensive and extensive production requires attention and intervention so that the livestock sector can have fewer negative and more positive impacts on national and global public goods.
- What is water treatment?
- Water Treatment, the physical and chemical processes used to ensure water's quality for its intended use. Minimum standards for drinking water are set by environmental agencies while industries have their own guidelines. Water Treatment, the physical and chemical processes used to ensure water's quality for its intended use.
- Does Ontario require drinking water disinfection & pre-disinfection treatment?
- Drinking water disinfection and any pre-disinfection treatment requirements in Ontario are specific to the type of raw water supply. All water supplies should be individually assessed by measuring relevant water quality parameters.
- What if my drinking water doesn't meet Canadian guidelines?
- If your drinking water doesn't meet with the Canadian guidelines, you would need to take appropriate corrective measures such as: In such cases, you should consult a qualified water treatment specialist for proper advice. We don't recommend specific brands of drinking water treatment devices.
- Is produced water treatment a critical challenge faced by the oil and gas industry?
- Conclusions In conclusion, the produced water treatment is a critical challenge faced by the oil and gas industry. Various treatment technologies, including conventional approaches, thermal treatment processes, membrane-based systems, and resource recovery methods, have been explored.
