Microwave assisted synthesis of polyacrylamide grafted
Synthesis of polyacrylamide (PAM) grafted soya peptone was performed by the microwave assisted method using ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as free radical initiator. The synthesis was optimized by varying the acrylamide and CAN concentration.
The paper details the grafting of polyacrylamide chains (PAM) onto the backbone of casein, thus resulting in formation of polyacrylamide grafted casein (CAS-g-PAM). The synthesis has been carried out by microwave initiated method i.e. using only microwave irradiation for generating free radical sites on the backbone of casein.

2.2. Synthesis 2.2.1. Microwave assisted synthesis of polyacrylamide grafted starch (St-g-PAM), using ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as free radical initiator. 1 gm of starch was dissolved in 40 ml distilled water. Desired amount of acrylamide was dissolved in 10 ml water and was added to the starch solution.

Microwave (MW) rapid heating has received considerable attention as a new promising method for the one‐pot synthesis of metallic nanostructures in solutions. In this concept, advantageous application of this method has been demonstrated by using some typical examples for the preparation of Ag, Au, Pt, and AuPd nanostructures.

- Which water treatment method is used in Malaysia?
- Malaysia used both water treatment methods surface wate r [1 4- 15]. For instance, water treatment process flow at Sungai D ua Water Treatment Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) and Lamella C larifier . There is a total of 5 treatment plants at Su ngai Dua WTP. The plants consist of 2 sedimentation plants, 1 DAF Plant and 2 Lamella Clarifier
- What is the classification and uses of river water quality in Malaysia?
- The classification and uses of river water quality in Malaysia. Source : Jabatan Alam Sekitar (2019) . The Water Quality Index (WQI) has been practiced for about 30 years. The WQI formula uses six demand (COD ), suspended solids (SS), ammonia-nitrogen (AN), and pH [ 23].
- How do natural coagulants affect turbidity removal efficiency?
- The form of natural coagulants used in the coagulation process can also influence turbidity removal efficiency. For example, when the seeds of Tamarindus indica L. were blended in water , it was more effective than the water extract derived from ground seeds .
- What is coagulation in water treatment systems?
- Coagulation is one of the most common phenomena in nature and artificially enhanced water treatment systems.
