Preparation of polyacrylamide hydrogels at various charge
Then, a series of hydrogels at various charge densities were prepared by partial hydrolysis of polyacrylamide precursors in a 0.1M sodium hydroxide solution at 60°C. The hydrolysis time was varied between 20 and 180 min.
INTRODUCTION. Polyacrylamide belongs to a highly versatile group of polymers. that can find use in a wide range of applications including. wastewater treatment,1oil recovery,2,3soil conditioning, agriculture,4biochemistry, and biomedical applications5,6and. even as a subdermal filler for aesthetic surgical procedures.7.
Preparation of polyacrylamide aqueous dispersions using
High‐solids, low‐viscosity, stable polyacrylamide (PAM) aqueous dispersions were prepared by dispersion polymerization of acrylamide in aqueous solution of ammonium sulfate (AS) using poly (sodium acrylic acid) (PAANa) as the stabilizer, ammonium persulfate (APS) or 2,2′‐Azobis (N,N′‐dimethyleneisobutyramidine) dihydrochloride (VA‐044) as the initiator.
A process is disclosed for converting polyacrylamide gel into dilute aqueous solutions suitable for use in secondary oil recovery. Polyacrylamide gel is initially converted into a slurry of small gel particles in water from which forms a homogeneous solution concentrate which is then readily diluted to give the final drive fluid without any significant polymer degradation.
Facile preparation of polyacrylamide/chitosan/Fe3O4
The PAAm/CS hydrogels are synthesized by free radical polymerization in the presence of crosslinker and photoinitiator. Typically, a CS stock solution with a concentration of 2 wt% is prepared by dissolving 2 g of CS in 100 mL of 2.5 vol% aqueous acetic acid solution.
What is claimed is: 1. In a process for the production of aqueous solutions of polymer, the improvement comprising: a. chilling, until frozen, a gel of a polymer selected from the group consisting of polyacrylamide, hydroxyethyl cellulose, vinyl acetate-crotonic acid polymer, and polyvinyl acetate/polyvinyl pyrrolidone to within a temperature range of about -30 to about -320° F.,

One-Step Preparation of Antifouling Polysulfone
A novel method for one-step preparation of antifouling ultrafiltration membranes via a non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) technique is proposed. It involves using aqueous 0.05–0.3 wt.% solutions of cationic polyelectrolyte based on a copolymer of acrylamide and 2-acryloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride (Praestol 859) as a coagulant in NIPS.
If in a solution case, after the polyacrylamide dissolved in aqueous solution not used up, the remaining polyacrylamide solution should be filled with a lid seal to prevent dust from entering. The storage time of polyacrylamide is 48 hours. The solution becomes thinner when the polyacrylamide solution is stored for an extended period of time.
Effect of Specific Ions in Preparing Water on Viscosity
Served as polymer flooding for the enhanced oil recovery, partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PAM) has widely been employed for the oil production. The PAM solution prepared by the ground clean water was characterized with a higher viscosity in the early years while one, made by the oilfield produced water in the existence of complicated constituents, features a worse viscosity in the recent
Polyacrylamide is an umbrella term used to describe the homo-polymer of acrylamide and the copolymer of acrylamide with a small amount of other monomers. Owing to their superior property on increasing viscosity and gelling ability in the
