The model fluid samples are prepared by mixing polyacrylamide (PAM, flexible polyelectrolytes, gm mol −1, Sigma-Aldrich) into water along with mono-dispersed spherical polystyrene probe particles of radii m in very low volume fraction (0.1%) which we use as probes.
