Aggregate Stability as Affected by Polyacrylamide
The favorable effects of the environmentally friendly, nontoxic, anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) as a soil conditioner have long been established. Some uncertainties exist, however, regarding the effects of PAM molecular weight (MW) on its performance as a soil amendment and its ability to penetrate into aggregates and stabilize interior surfaces.

Soil erosion affects soil productivity and environmental quality. A laboratory research experiment under simulated heavy rainfall with tap water was conducted to investigate the effects of anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) application rates (0, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 g m −2) and molecular weights (12 and 18 Mg mol −1) on runoff, soil erosion, and soil nutrient loss at a slope of 5°.

The effects of pH, initiator dosage, temperature, and time on grafting percentage (GP) and grafting efficiency (GE) were also investigated. The synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles were successful to enhance the thermal and biological properties of a native copolymer which was confirmed by TGA and biological assay.

- Can carbohydrazide be used as a scavenger in boiler water?
- When acting as the oxygen scavenger of boiler water, carbohydrazide may be directly added into the water while its aqueous solution can also be used. The usage amount of carbohydrazide for scavenging 1mol O2 is 0.5mol, and should be appropriately in excess. The proper temperature range is 87.8-176.7 ℃.
- Does carbohydrazide reduce oxygen content in boiler feedwater?
- The carbohydrazide application in Units I–III caused a significant reduction of oxygen, iron, and copper contents in boiler feedwater. The comparison between the period before carbohydrazide application and the 4th tests phase for the average values of boiler feedwater measurements, gives the results shown in Fig. 8. Fig. 8.
- Can carbohydrazide be used in mixed metallurgy boilers?
- An experimental application of carbohydrazide in mixed metallurgy boilers using different alkalization agents and the optimization of this application had been performed. The tests were carried out on three Units of a thermal power plant and the relevant data was collected, analyzed and the results were evaluated.
- Is carbohydrazide soluble in water?
- Except where otherwise noted, data are given for materials in their standard state (at 25 °C [77 °F], 100 kPa). ?
- ) Carbohydrazide is the chemical compound with the formula OC (N 2 H 3) 2. It appears as a white solid that is soluble in water, [ 1][ 2] but not in many organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether or benzene.
