SIX: A New Resin Treatment Technology for Drinking Water
UV H2O2 treatment for disinfection and organic contaminant control at PWN " s water treatment plant Andijk Scale-Up of the MIEX DOC Process for Full-Scale Water Treatment Plant Jan 1999 J C
THMs in the product water from these plants were in the range of 67 to 75 ppb with HAAs between 46 and 55 ppb. With MIEXpre- treatment, the concentrations in the distribution system have been reduced to 21 to 22 ppb for THMs and 13 to 17 ppb for HAAs.
MIEX water purification process - CSIROpedia
The MIEX process. MIEX is used as a pre-treatment at the start of a conventional water treatment plant. It is a continuous ion exchange process performed in tanks, which is maintained in a steady state by the withdrawal and regeneration of loaded resin, and the return of this resin to the process.

Water treatment using MIEXDOC/ultrafiltration process
The process of the DOC removal based on the MIEX resin includes resin contacting with water, resin separation and recycle, and resin regeneration with NaCl. The process differs from the conventional ion exchange technology in the way that the ion exchange part of the process is continuous, i.e. there is no need to stop the treat- ment unit for resin regeneration, because this phase is performed in separate unit.
MIEX DOC resin (MIEX hereinafter) was used for the testing of PFAS removal. The list of tested PFAS is shown in Table 1. As recommended by the manufacturer, MIEX was stored wet in a 5% NaCl solution until use. Before using MIEX, it was rinsed with DI water three times of the volume of the resin.
NOM-removal by the SIX-process | Water Practice
In the classical dual-stage MIEX process, one or two totally mixed contactors in series are fed with raw water and resin, leading to an average resin concentration of 20 to 40 mL/L of resin in the contactors. Approximately 5 to 10% of the settled resin is pumped to a regeneration station, regenerated and re-loaded to the remaining 90 to 95% resin.
In the SIX process, resin is dosed from a dosing tank into the raw water at a low concentration of 4 to 20 mL resin/L, depending on the raw water quality, desired treated water quality, and

Magnetic ion exchange (MIEX) resin treatment is well-studied in drinking water for removal of DOM from natural waters.
With suitable treatment, industrial water can be recycled and reused as boiler or cooling tower feed water supplement, material washing, irrigation, toilet flushing, etc. 1. By treating and reusing water on site, businesses can reduce water consumption and discharge of trade effluent to public sewer. 2.

- What is a high molecular weight nonionic polyacrylamide?
- High-molecular-weight nonionic polyacrylamides are routinely used in the mineral processing industries as thickeners and flocculants , , . 34.2.5. Polyacrylamide product forms The product types for polyacrylamides are solutions, liquids (emulsion or dispersion), and dry powders.
- What is an anionic polyacrylamide?
- Anionic polyacrylamides make up the largest portion of the polyacrylamide market. The polymers can be prepared over a wide range of anionic charges and molecular weights (1000 to > 20,000,000 molecular weight). The workhorse comonomer for the production of anionic polyacrylamides is acrylate salts of acrylic acid.
- What are the product types for polyacrylamides?
- The product types for polyacrylamides are solutions, liquids (emulsion or dispersion), and dry powders. The forms each have their own set of advantages and disadvantages as will be discussed in the following. 34.2.5.1. Aqueous solution polyacrylamides
