Generally, cationic polyacrylamide is copolymerized by acrylamide (AM) and cationic monomers in an aqueous solution. Among various cationic monomers, (3-acrylamidopropyl) trimethyl ammonium chloride (ATMAC) is the first used cationic monomer because of the rich amine groups.
