Effect of Gypsum and Polyacrylamide Application
This study discusses the effects of gypsum and polyacrylamide (PAM) application on infiltration and erodibility of a Japanese acid soil. Acid Kunigami mahji soil (sedimentary rock derived, Typic Hapludult) from Okinawa was packed into an acrylic plastic box, and simulated rainfall of 40 mm h −1 was applied.
Calcium carbonates and gypsum (CaSO4) are used to improve chemical status of the acid soil. However, application of Ca cation may sometimes enhance dispersion and deteriorate soil physical properties. Presenting study discusses effect of non-ionic polyacrylamide (PAM) application on erodibility of a gypsum amended Japanese acid soil.
Effect of Polyacrylamide Application on Water and Nutrient
Effect of Polyacrylamide Application on Water and Nutrient Movements in Soils Minyoung Kim1, Inhong Song2, Minkyeong Kim3, e.g. polyacrylamide, gypsum, etc. [3]. Water-soluble polyacrylamide (PAM) is known as one of effective treatments for enhancing infiltration, re-
14 effect of method of application, type of polyacrylamide, gypsum and their combinations 15 on turbidity of water. Six polyacrylamides (1-6 in Table 2) representing anionic, non-16 ionic and cationic charge with varying charge density were used in this experiment.
Spatio-Temporal Analyses of Symbiodinium Physiology of the
Spatial patterns of Symbiodinium abundance and physiology. The two dominant Symbiodinium clades identified in our study, type A1 (S. microadriaticum) and clade C, were previously found in the Red Sea proper and the Gulf of Aqaba , . Our data indicate a change in the dominant clade from clade A to C between the Red Sea proper and the Gulf of Aqaba.

The extracellular proteins secreted were then isolated and analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Proteins profile revealed that three additional bands with approximate sizes of 30 kDa, 22 kDa and 23 kDa were appeared for the treated bacteria with Streptomycin Sulfate.

Polymer Effect on Soil Erosion Reduction and Water Quality Improvement for Selected Tropical Soils Authors: James Teo, Chittaranjan Ray, Samir A. El-Swaify Keywords: Polyacrylamide, Aggregate stability, Sediment flocculation DOI: 10.13031/2013.3198
A laboratory research experiment under simulated heavy rainfall with tap water was conducted to investigate the effect of anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) application rates (0, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 g m-2) and molecular weights (12 and 18 Mg mol-1) on runoff, soil erosion, and soil nutrient loss at a slope of 5o.
- What is a polyacrylamide & oligomer?
- Polyacrylamide (PAM) & oligomers PAM is a water-soluble, odorless, white synthetic linear polymer with the repeating formula (-CH 2 CHCONH 2 -), and its monomer used is AM. Its molecular weight (MW) of PAM ranges from 10 5 to >10 7 Da, with a length of up to six million monomer units.
- Is polyacrylamide a good soil conditioner?
- However, as these solutions are proposed, numerous doubts and opposing opinions are emerging. Polyacrylamide (PAM), also known as “soil conditioner”, “soil amendment” and “soil stabilizer” in soil science ( Gilda Dell'Ambrogio and Wong, 2019 ), is commonly used to modify the unfavorable and damaged characteristics of soil.
- Does Pam solvated with Fe 3+ release acrylamide?
- It was found that PAM solvated with Fe 3+ generated ppb levels of acrylamide after exposure to sunlight under acidic conditions (pH 6). They concluded that release of acrylamide would be insignificant at low levels of iron (<0.02 mg/L) under alkaline (7.5–8.5) conditions.
- Is acrylamide a polymer?
- The term “PAM” is commonly used to refer to any polymer that contains acrylamide as one of its monomers. Its IUPAC nomenclature is poly (prop-2-enamide) formed by linking acrylamide monomers or N, N ′-methylenebis (AM) ( Xiong et al., 2018a ).
