Bacteria or Enzymes for Wastewater Treatment? Pollution
Enzymes have a very different effect on fat compared with bacteria, as they simply break up and liquefy the fat, oil and grease in wastewater without actually digesting it. Smaller molecules of fat are created that initially pass down the drain rather nicely, however these smaller molecules eventually congeal back together later down the water
There are many methods to treat wastewater and sewage from the use of bacteria, enzymes and chemicals. The most common processes of wastewater and sewage treatment involves screening and clarification to remove solids, aerobic, suspended growth, activated sludge, reduction of organic pollutants and chlorine disinfection to minimize pathogens.
Microbial Community Structure of Activated Sludge
The samples were obtained from three wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in the Moscow region (Russia). Each WWTP treats 50,000–60,000 m 3 of wastewater daily. The treated effluent is discharged into the tributaries of the Moskva-river basin. We selected three WWTPs with incoming wastewater of different chemical compositions.
Our enzymes and enzyme-producing bacteria effectively break down organic waste and increase the quality of wastewater effluent without the use of harsh chemicals. Our treatment products contain specially selected enzymes and/or bacteria strains that start acting quickly to degrade organic waste, reduce odors, and improve system efficiency over
Microtack microbial enzyme products for wastewater treatment
Microtack ® microbial enzyme products can, however, help a waste treatment system to reach a level of high treatment efficiency and thus help the system to eliminate BOD as rapidly as possible from a wastewater flow. These products can help to liquefy solids and re-establish beneficial micro flora in a biological waste treatment system.
A consortium of key bacterial taxa plays critical roles in the composting process. In order to elucidate the identity and mechanisms by which specific bacterial species drive high-efficiency composting, the succession of key bacterial consortia and extracellular enzymes produced during the composting process were monitored in composting piles with varying initial C/N ratios.

INTRODUCTION. As proposed by Robert Koch, a pure culture is the foundation of all research in infectious diseases (1, 2).The first isolation of a bacterium enables the design of experimental models to analyze virulence and to complete Koch's criteria, thereby establishing a link between microorganisms and infectious diseases ().Bacterial culture also enables the study of the antibiotic
Micropollutant Fate in Wastewater Treatment: Redefining
Evaluating the efficiency of advanced wastewater treatment: Target analysis of organic contaminants and (geno-)toxicity assessment tell a different story. Water Research 2014, 50, 35-47. DOI: 10.1016/j.watres.2013.11.041.
Despite its emerging significant public health concern, the presence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in urban air has not received significant attention. Here, we profiled relative abundances (as a fraction, normalized by 16S rRNA gene) of 30 ARG subtypes resistant to seven common classes of antibiotics, which are quinolones, β-lactams, macrolides, tetracyclines, sulfonamides

In a comprehensive treatment of chronic osteomyelitis, the use of bacteriophages has also shown high efficiency [9]. Phage preparations can be applied in dentistry. For example, a study using the drug « Sextaphag » has proven its efficiency in treating gingivitis and parodontium [10]. Bacteriophages have shown a
