Agarose and Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis
Abstract. Electrophoresis through agarose or polyacrylamide gels is a standard method used to separate, identify, and purify nucleic acids. The technique is simple, rapid to perform and capable of resolving fragments that differ by as little as 0.2% in size.
Spiroplasmas (helical, motile mycoplasmas from plants and arthropods) have been grouped according to patterns produced by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of cell proteins dissolved in sodium dodecyl sulfate; the grouping is in agreement with classification schemes proposed on the basis of serological and DNA hybridization properties.

The polymerization of acrylamide in presence of some coloured monomers was investigated in order to study a spectroscopic method of titration of very diluted solution of polyacrylamide in water. Best results have been obtained with the N, 2, 4 dinitro-acryline-aerylamide monomer incorporated in low content (1/3000 mole).
Polyacrylamide hydrogel application in sand control with
Sand production is one of the major problems in sandstone reservoirs. Different mechanical and chemical methods have been proposed to control sand production. In this paper, we propose a chemical method based on using polyacrylamide/chromium triacetate hydrogel to investigate sand production in a synthetic sandpack system. To this end, a series of bulk experiments including the bottle test and
Abstract. Quantification of proteins is a common challenge. There are various methods described for estimation of the amount of protein present in a sample, for example, amino acid analysis and the bicinchoninic acid (BCA) method (see Chapters 83 and 3).Proteins may be quantified in sample solvent prior to elec-trophoresis and can provide an estimate of total amount of protein in a sample
Quantification of Proteins by Staining in Polyacrylamide Gels
Microgram to submicrogram amounts of protein (of over a few kilodaltons in size) may be quantified in this way. Although not every protein stain is best suited to this purpose, the method described herein is suitable for quantification of microgram-to-submicrogram amounts of proteins on sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) polyacrylamide gels (1, 2).
Acrylamide is a well-known industrial chemical whose primary use is the synthesis of polyacrylamide. The discovery of the presence of acrylamide in food first occurred when environmental contamination from a Swedish construction project caused widespread death of livestock.
An approach to natural insect repellent formulations:
The best strategy to lower the incidence of mosquito-borne diseases is to avoid mosquito bites using topical repellents and repellent-treated mosquito nets (Govindarajan et al., 2016). The use of mosquito repellents has become one of the most effective ways to prevent disease transmission and the discomfort associated with mosquito bites.
Brazil is the largest producer and consumer of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), which is the most important source of human dietary protein in that country. This study assessed the genetic diversity and the structure of a sample of 279 geo-referenced common bean landraces from Brazil, using molecular markers.
